In astronomy, Vela is the Latin name for the constellation known as 'The Sail,' visible in the southern hemisphere. Additionally, the name Vela finds its roots in ancient Indian mythology, where it was associated with a goddess linked to the sky and stars. Revered as the protector of the universe, she was often depicted riding a chariot pulled by seven horses, symbolizing the seven colors of the rainbow.
